The Solution

  1. Be a parent... not a friend to your child, first.

  2. Show interest in your teen's school life (joining the PTA, checking homework, etc.)

  3. Spend quality time getting to know your child's likes and dislikes

  4. Get to know your child's friends

  5. Be honest and direct when talking about sensitive subjects (drugs, sex, smoking, etc.)

  6. Help them make healthy choices while encouraging them to make their own decisions.

  7. Respect your teen's opinions and take into account their thoughts and feelings. It is important that they know you are "listening" to them.

  8. Be clear about goals and expectations (like getting good grades, showing respect, and keeping their room clean). Both Caring Men & Caring Women address these issues with one on one interactive discussions, designed to meet the world's expectations of living.
